Anamaria Marinca, born in Romania, is an actress. She received the British Academy Television Award Best Actress award for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. Speaks French, German, English and Romanian fluently. Her mother was a violinist, Her father is a professor of theater at one of the best Romanian acting schools. She was awarded the Best Female Actor Award in 2000, for her performance in the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors. The European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. She also received several awards for her role in the film 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days a Romanian Art Film. In 2007, she starred as a character in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 saptamani si2 zile (4 Months, 3 Weeks 4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 Days), composed by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film received two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize from the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was another film that she was in. In 2008, she played Yasim in BBC's Five-Episode The Last Enemy. Marinca was a guest in her own Romanian drama Boogie as well as Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven. Then she played the role of Irma's German Aunt in Fury that was released in 2014.
