Lee is the long-term drummer for Motley Cr e. He also founded Methods of Mayhem, a rap metal band. He has also pursued his own musical career. Lee is a proponent of animal rights as well as PETA. Lee has written Terry Prather in protest of Tilikum's treatment of the animal in 2010. Lee believed the animal ought to be released and asserted that SeaWorld would not comply, since Tilikum is their main donor of sperm. Lee said he was disgusted by SeaWorld's ill-conceived and untrue methods to obtain Tilikum sperm. Lee declared that he wanted to prevent more tragedies like trainers' deaths as this was the result of the whales' inability be kept in captivity.
